Today we became authors!

This week we've been looking at a different familiar story every day. Today we looked at We're going on a bear hunt. We retold the story using actions before changing the story ourselves!

Below is a video of us performing our own Bear Hunt story.

Next week we will be writing our own repetitive stories.


Fantastic fraction work!

This week we've been learning about fractions. We know that a fraction is a part of a whole number or object. We have been focusing on halves and quarters. Today we also had a go at finding thirds of numbers!

Masters of Measuring!

This week in maths we are learning about different units of measure. Today we were investigating different units for measuring length and height.

We measured using a metre ruler stick and were looking for objects that were taller and shorter than 1 metre.

After, we measured different lines using a cm ruler.

Classifying materials

Yesterday in science we were classifying the different materials that year 2 bought in for their homework. We sorted them into metal,  plastic, wood, paper and cloth. Below is a picture of us classifying our materials.

Super Sequences!

Today in maths we've been looking at how to complete sequences!

Some of us completed number sequences for the 2, 5 and 10 times tables while others of us created our own colour and object repeating patterns.

Mental maths

Once a week in maths we focus on mental maths. We play games that support us with our learning of mental addition and subtraction. Some of us were also working on our times tables. Here are some photos of us working in groups to build on our mental maths.




We went on a materials hunt!

We went on a hunt outside to try and find as many objects made from different materials! we worked in groups to try and find objects made from:  wood, plastic, metal, glass and clay.
