Today we went to Chiltern Open Air Museum to support our learning of the Victorians.

First the children attended a Victorian school. Penmanship, arithmetic and chanting the times tables were all practised IN SILENCE!

After that the children made and cooked drop scones over an open fire and finally the children learnt how to make a rag rug.

All in all an exhausting but very interesting day.

Today Year 2 took part in a sports festival with other local schools. They had the opportunity to try street dance, aerobics, tri-golf, speed stacking and ball games. All the children tried their best and had a great time.

Last week we went for a walk around our village. We found lots of features that we liked and also some that we didn't.
We found 57 pieces of rubbish! We need take more care of our village. I think we should have more rubbish bins in the village.

What an amazing day!

Last week members of the school council were lucky enough to visit The Houses of Parliament. We learnt all about the history of our democracy and how government works today.

We also had a little detour to Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square!

Amazing maths!

Today in maths we were measuring length. Some of us were ordering objects depending on their length. We used 30cm rulers to measure if objects were longer or shorter than 30 cms. Some of us made our own rulers using multi link cubes.

Have a look at some of our pictures.
