What a busy week!

Yesterday the children danced beautifully at our May celebrations. They had practised very hard and they should be very proud of themselves.

Today we went on a plant hunt in the church yard. We found some bluebells, they were so blue and beautiful, the flowers were shaped like bells and hanging off the stalk. We also found daisies and speedwell up by the tennis court. My favourite flowers were the bluebells.

Today we went into the school garden and we planted some vegetables and flowers. We got very mucky and messy but we had fun!

Anyone for tennis!

We have been very lucky with the weather and on Mondays we have been playing tennis during our PE lessons.

Maybe our next Wimbledon champion?

Walking through the fields is a great warm up!

Last week we were investigating what seeds need to grow. We found out that they need water, light, warmth and soil.

We found out seeds like soil to grow.

We found out seeds need water.

We found out seeds do not grow in the cold.

We found out our seeds like lots of light to grow

We were also sorting fruit and vegetables into different groups.

Today we did a science investigation. We wanted to find out if seeds germinate quicker in the dark or in the light. We are going to put one tray of seeds in a dark cupboard and one tray in the light on a window sill. We will then see which seeds grow first.

A belated Blogg!
Egg rolling is a great tradition at Great Gaddesden. Every year all the children  go into the church yard and try and roll their egg as far as they can without it cracking.
